GEOTECHNICAL TESTING SERVICES

Pitcher Drilling Company (Pitcher) offers a wide range of geotechnical cone penetration and geophysical testing services. Pitcher’s skilled and knowledgeable operators can retrieve data at a faster rate even in difficult conditions, allowing less time on the job and a lower cost to the client.  Our highly trained staff can then provide you with the technical support necessary to accurately interpret the data we provide and assist you in the design of your site investigation program.

Services Include:

  • Cone Penetration Testing (CPT)

     -  Determines sub-surface stratigraphy
     -  Estimates geotechnical parameters in a rapid and cost
        effective manner
     -  Provides results directly for use in geotechnical design
     

  • Seismic Cone Penetration Testing
      - Provides parameters for the analysis of soil behavior in
       response to dynamic loading from earthquakes, ice,
       vibrating machine foundations, waves and wind
     

  • Vane Shear Testing (VST)
      - Evaluates the in-place undrained shear strength (suv)
       of soft to stiff clays and silts
     

  • Pressuremeter Testing (PMT)

    l - Measures in situ strength and deformation properties of
       all types of soil and soft rock as well as ice and
       permafrost
     

  • SPT Energy Calibration
     - Provides measurements to determine the energy ratio or
      efficiency of the SPT system
